Knox is tops for Wi-Fi Hotspots
[KNOX - May 11, 2004] - On the road and looking for a Wi-Fi hotspot to connect you to your network so you can return that important e-mail or download the client's latest specifications? Then, you're looking for Knox. With only twenty-three Wi-Fi Hotspots in the entire state of Indiana, Knox is a role-model community with 2 free hotspots in this small town of 3,500.
Travelers looking to connect wirelessly can get online the Wi-Fi Hotspots at MainStreet Computers in downtown Knox and at the Henry F. Schricker Public Library on Culver Road. Wi-Fi Hotspots are locations in which 802.11 technology exists and is available for consumers to use to connect to the Internet.
Wi-Fi Hotspots are increasing in importance and growing in popularity as today's business people require increased connectivity, faster response time and increased access to their networks in order to stay competitive.
The emergence of Knox as a role model in terms of wireless connectivity is no accident. Starke County's position in the world of technology is being assessed and guided by a Technology and Connectivity Committee that meets frequently to ensure that Starke County's advanced communications infrastructure enhances its economic development climate.
